A little bit about me:  My name is Lisa Livingston and I live in Rochester, New York.  I am married and have two teenage children.  I have been interested in crafts and sewing from a very young age.  I received a fine arts degree in Weaving and Textile Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.

I continued with the weaving for awhile but had to dismantle my loom to make room for the kids.   I got into quilting after that (it takes up a lot less space!).  I had been exposed to hooking for years.  My mother , Nancy MacLennan, is a hooker and teaches rug hooking and has taught at many rug camps across the US.  She is the co-author of the Prism Dye books.  She likes to work in fine cuts and hooks primarily pictorials and realistic animals.  Her work is always wonderful, but it never made me want to try hooking.  When I began seeing the simplicity and childlike quality of primitive hooking, I fell in love instantly.  I love folk art and the primitive hooking style appeals to me.  I began hooking in 2000 and just love it!  I hook with a wonderful group of Hookers in Palmyra, NY and belong to the Rug Hookers of the Finger Lakes Guild.  Happy hooking!
