A little bit about me: My name is Lisa Livingston and I live in Rochester, New York. I am married and have two grown children. I have been interested in crafts and sewing from a very young age. I received a fine arts degree in Weaving and Textile Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. I had been exposed to rug hooking for years. My mother, Nancy MacLennan, is a rug hooking teacher and has taught at many rug camps across the US.
She is also the co-author of the Prism Dye books. She likes to work in fine cuts and hooks primarily pictorials and realistic animals. Her work is wonderful, but I never had the urge to try hooking myself. That is until I saw the simplicity and childlike quality of primitive hooking. I fell in love instantly! I love folk art and the wide cut hooking style appeals to me. I began hooking in 2000 and just love it! Happy Hooking!
